If you have more than 3-5 books to donate, please use this form to schedule a time to drop off books at our Bremerton office!
We ask that all titles donated be clean, mildew/mold free, and minimal damage to covers and pages.
Please note that we try really hard to make sure our inventory is full of books in the best condition we can offer for being secondhand, so while a little wear and tear usually indicates a well loved read, we may not accept more damaged books regardless of their title/value. If you are dropping off books in person,
we cannot offer credit same day unless it is through a scheduled appointment time. if you would like to remain on site to take back any books that are not accepted, please check the box to add time to the appointment. additional time is an estimate and may vary based on the volume of books you are dropping off.

DONATED BOOK GUIDE & STORE CREDIT POLICY
Looking to donate?
Looking to clear some space on your bookshelves? We might be able to help! If you’re interested in donating some of your gently used books, we offer a credit program that can be used towards used book purchases at our pop up events!
What happens to books we can’t use:
We know your books are loved, and if they don’t meet our standards or inventory need we will make sure they go to a good home! All books unable to be added to our inventory will be donated to local charities (not Goodwill!) for distribution in our community or back to our public library system. No book is ever tossed in the trash or abandoned. <3
If you would like to take back your books that we can’t accept, please schedule an appointment so we can go through your donation while you’re on site and available to take your books back! Books that are dropped off with us in person are subject to donation after review period is ended.
What we can take:
If you’re bringing us books, we ask that they be clean, mildew/mold free, and minimal damage to covers and pages. Please note that we try really hard to make sure our inventory is full of books in the best condition we can offer for being secondhand, so while a little wear and tear usually indicates a well loved read, we may not accept more damaged books regardless of their title/value.
We do currently do not accept magazines, Reader’s Digest, encyclopedias, CDs, coloring books, children’s books, cookbooks, textbooks, or audiobooks
We prefer fiction (trade) publications, but will consider non-fiction if it is recent/relevant (published in the last 3 years.)
When we can take books:
If you only have a handful (think 3-5) books to donate, we can accept them in person at our events. Anything more than 3-5 books, please set up an appointment to drop them off! We respectfully ask that you not bring large amounts of books to drop off in person events as we can’t guarantee having the space to take them on the spot, especially at places where we have smaller booth set ups! Once you schedule a time, we’ll confirm via email and send you the address for our Bremerton office so we can meet you to receive your books.
If you are dropping off books in person, we cannot offer credit same day unless it is through a scheduled appointment time.
What credit can be used for:
Credit at our store is available for use towards other used books in stock. You will receive one store credit for each title we choose to keep. Please note all books are accepted/credited at owner discretion, and are still subject to rejection based on condition.
Sorry, credit cannot be redeemed on non-book items including food or drink at an event! We also do not offer cash for books.
What we offer for credit:
fiction paperbacks and/or hardcovers published in the last 3 years in best condition: $3-5 credit/title
fiction hardcovers in best-fair condition older than 3 years: $1/title kept
fiction paperbacks in best-fair condition older than 3 years: $1 for every 2 titles kept
All other fiction or non-fiction paperbacks and/or hardcovers older than 3 years and in fair-poor condition: $1 credit for every 3 titles kept
-
Basically pristine, maybe it doesn’t even seem like anyone has read this book. Intact dust jacket for hardcovers, crisp clean pages, no spine or cover damage, all pages intact.
-
Slight wear on front and back covers, no underlining or annotations in the margins, minimal spine damage, mild sticker residue or faint staining from storage sometimes accepted. Basically, it’s been read and taken care of but maybe seen a little bit of life.
-
It’s been very, very, very well loved. Noticeable damage to cover and/or pages, tearing, excessive staining, pen or ink marks in book, missing pages or damaged/missing dust jackets. We’re not likely to add anything in this category to our inventory unless it’s something we’ve been searching for.
When credit is available:
Please allow us time to go through your books and evaluate the credit available to you! Same day/on the spot credit is not available. We are just two book lovin’ fools who have busy schedules and need time to evaluate our book donations accordingly. Please allow us up to 7 days to sort through your books and determine what we will accept! Once we have reviewed your donation, we will reach out to you to let you know the credit available to you.
